Noir of Place (strong sense of). Diverting. Read it on a flight from Iceland to Boston. But I lost a little of the ending, cause this dingbat came to occupy an empty seat in my bulkhead row and his behavior grew distracting. Pulled a handle of vodka out of his backpack and washed down some pills. Then, when he saw the flight crew was occupied, he went up and stole all the snacks and beers he could from the food cart (this was a cheap airline, you had to pay for these snacks). He made several trips before we landed. Filled his backpack.
